ev.io is a futuristic Halo-esque first person shooter in the browser.

You must try to survive by avoiding attacks by bigger players. You start the game as a tiny bacteria (Blob) in a petri dish. This is a multiplayer online action game. Since then it evolved even more and lot of different popular game hits were released,like emerging Battle Royale. The rise of io games niche is connected with Agar.io and Slither.io which gained massive popularity in start. IO GAMES are new genre of multiplayer games with fast paced and easy to understand gameplay. 
Plus, most of such games are a pleasure to play because you can have them on your phone or browser and enjoy at any. They want something simpler and more fun at times. People don't always want to play the top league games. IO games are very popular right now, mainly because they are a pleasure to play and really interesting.
